I think the RROD issue has overmasked some of the hardware issues with the PS3. Obviously the scale of the problems isn't comparable, but that doesn't mean the issue of YLOD is rare at all. Any honest person who is on PS3 Forums can testify to how common it can be.
Here in the UK Sony have stopped their extended warranty service because people were abusing it. But I went through 3 PS3's believe or not in over two years. I was just very unlucky, but again I don't see what the RROD...
I actually laughed reading this. You people need serious help
The Slim launches and they have great momentum and all of a sudden they just cut down production rates. Trying to create artificial demand is risky and can backfire, assuming that is what Sony is trying to do.
I think the point of this submission is to underline the hypocrisy of the community here. Microsoft, amongst being Satan's lovechild and all that is evil in the world to many here (whilst they say this on their Windows PC's), are often accused of stealing and copying other projects. The validity of that is an entirely different discussion. Personally I do not care for such discussions, it's up to the corporate lawyers to make a living in that as it doesn't affect me. But what's interesting in...
If it was "PSN beats Xbox Live...", 100% guranteed it wouldn't get any reports, be swiftly approved and the usual MS bashing would commence. In 2007, N4G was filled with 360 fanboys. Now the site is mostly used by PS3 fanboys for PS3 fanboys.
It's a joke7
Day 1
When I saw the first images of GOW3, I did think it looked great but I wasn't part of the group of people who were having orgasms over the screenshots - although that could have been down to the hype of waiting so many years for the game.
I then saw the latest trailer, and it made me want to buy a PS3 again.
I then see these screenshots and can't understand where they came from. The textures and detail in the trailer (although short and fast) looked generations bett...
N4G lives in it's own bubble of reality
How is this any different to what Sony did with Assassins Creed 2, especially in the UK where every advertisement of the game were in PS3 colours. It's called marketing deal.
Why would there be a shortage all of a sudden, especially when Sony would have wanted the new price point penetration at a max after the holidays? It makes no sense
The 10th best selling title in the NPD sold around 170K. For MAG to have sold 500K suggests that the game enjoyed more than 2/3rd of it's sales in Europe and/or Asia. MAG was released on the 29th in the EU. I just wish Sony would realise how important Europe is for them and treat them with as much, if not more, priority than they do in North America.
Mass Effect 2 is the highest rated in that list.
This has always been an issue with some games.
So why question the integrity of the source when the content of the article isn't the issue but more of how it will be perceived? The criticism of IGN here is that they acted immaturely by posting something that would be flame-bait. But who is at fault here? IGN for writing it, or the fact that there are people out there who - like Miller highlights the start of his commentary - get upset at review scores of other console exclusives? It's completely pathetic and sadly the mass of N4G follow t...
I think a lot of people are missing the point of this article and simply judging it on the title. The point, as he illustrates in the first few paragraphs, is that discussions of console exclusives on Internet forums has transcended mere debate about the quality of the individual games - it could even be argued that there is little discussion about the games specifically in comparison to the amount of argument and debate there is surrounding which console it is exclusive for.
If ...
Apparently the PS3 was sold out till 2009. And there's the rest of the world thinking it had something to do with price.

There needs to be a book of quote collections from Microsoft and Sony PR this generation. It would be a comic best seller
JokesOnYou said it best.
If this game was on the 360 too, I am 100% certain that the majority here would blame the Xbox 360 for getting the game "dumbed" down in terms of storage.
So after 3-5 years worth of a library of games for both consoles, one or two games will be the deciding factor for which console you pick? No, I don't accept that. This isn't a Call of Duty, FIFA/Madden or GTA franchise going one-console exclusive. People choose consoles for a variety of reasons, quality and number of quality games being just one of them. Price, word of mouth, consoles friends own and the online functionality all play a part. If console Z had all of that, yet this amazing gam...
Question.
What game, if launched exclusively on another platform, would make you actually purchase a different console just to play that one game? To me there is no game that can justify that so why people on N4G are so obsessed with exclusivity is beyond me. I've been saying it for years, all games should be multiplatform so everyone can enjoy them because there is no game either MS or Sony or Nintendo can justify spending hundreds of dollars on.
PSN was the reason which saw me play an average of 2 hours a week on my PS3 and subsquently sold it. It is the same reason why my younger brother replaced his PS3 just yesterday with an Elite. Until PSN offers the same fundamental features as Live does that allows friends to play and communicate together without an issue in any game they choose to, it is farcical to suggest that PSN is better for the gamer than Live. Eventually Sony will deliver those functions, although most likely in a Prem...
